Hard fun meets thoughtful coaching.

Guiding learners to find their voice, lead with curiosity, and grow real-world skills through authentic mentorship and bold, creative learning.
Get to know my approach, my values, and why Prisma feels like the perfect fit.
Hey, I'm Robin.
As a long-time educator, writer, and Prisma parent-coach, I love helping middle schoolers tap into their creativity, curiosity, and voice. I’m especially drawn to the Grades 6–8 Learning Coach role, though my experience spans both middle and upper elementary learners.
This page highlights my approach to building confidence, community, and real-world skills in kids who are ready to think big.

Why Prisma?
Innovation with heart—that’s my sweet spot.

I’m energized by Prisma’s blend of startup agility and educational soul. It’s rare to find a place that champions both innovation and deep learner-centered care—and that balance mirrors my own career at the intersection of creativity, mentorship, and purpose-driven work.
As a Prisma parent-coach, I’ve seen firsthand how this model builds confidence, connection, and real-world thinking in kids. Watching my own children thrive through curiosity-led learning and meaningful challenge made me want to bring that same spark to a wider group of learners.
What I bring to the role.
(The nutshell version.)
A Heart for Teens + Tweens
I’ve spent 15+ years mentoring learners in grades 4–12 across co-ops, studios, workshops, and 1:1 settings. Whether helping a learner find their voice, navigate frustration, or stretch their thinking, I build relationships rooted in trust, playfulness, and high expectations.

Literacy & Communication Expertise
From persuasive essays to TED-style speeches, I help learners develop clarity, structure, and authentic voice. With a background in academic, creative, and business writing, I coach kids to become confident thinkers and communicators in the real world.
Creative, Tech-Savvy Facilitation
I design engaging, learner-centered workshops using tools like Google Suite, Loom, Padlet, and Canva. My virtual classes blend creativity, reflection, and relevance to keep learners motivated and meaningfully challenged.

Growth-Oriented Feedback
As a former professor and longtime coach, I give constructive, actionable feedback that encourages revision and resilience. I focus on progress over perfection and help learners reframe challenges as growth opportunities.
A Builder's Mindset
I’ve launched and sold educational platforms, led a 26-speaker summit, and created interdisciplinary programs from scratch. I bring an entrepreneurial spirit and thrive in fast-paced, purpose-driven teams.

A Reliable, Friendly Teammate
As a Certified Scrum Master and seasoned project manager, I’m proactive, organized, and communicative—especially in distributed teams. I value clarity, mutual support, and celebrating shared wins.
What guides my work.
I believe the best coaching starts with curiosity, not control. My goal is to help learners see themselves as capable, reflective, and resourceful—whether they’re revising a draft, navigating a project block, or discovering what lights them up.
I aim to ask great questions, offer thoughtful feedback, and guide kids toward meaningful progress—not just performance. I care deeply about helping middle schoolers develop clarity of voice, confidence in their ideas, and ownership of their learning.
That’s why I’m drawn to project-based models like Prisma’s—because they value not only what a learner knows, but who they’re becoming.
For a deeper look at the values that shape my approach, here are two reflections that capture how I think about coaching and creativity:

In this 2020 TEDx talk, I urge parents and educators to embrace the disruptive side of creativity.

In this 2021 article, I write about the importance of choice in making school a place kids want to be.

Dive into the details.
I’m a former university professor turned online educator with 15+ years of experience coaching learners, designing project-based experiences, and guiding real-world skill development.
While I’ve taught across grade levels, I especially love working with middle schoolers and helping them grow into confident, curious, and capable humans. I’m known for building strong relationships, communicating clearly, and always finding ways to make learning more engaging (and more fun).

Coaching in action.
Munga Punga: Project-Based Learning in Action
I founded Munga Punga to help kids stay curious through weekly project-based challenges. The program combined themed prompts, asynchronous learning, and interactive video content. This sample showcases my ability to design playful, student-centered environments where learning feels meaningful and fun.

Leading Tomorrow Summit: Coaching Learners Through Speaking & Storytelling
As host and lead coach for the 26-speaker Leading Tomorrow Summit, I guided participants from idea generation to final performance. This example includes a before-and-after writing sample that demonstrates how I coach learners through feedback, revision, and performance with clarity and care.

Feedback Examples: Meeting Students At Their Level.
As a learning coach, I support learners in developing clarity, confidence, and ownership across all forms of communication—from Literacy drafts to reflective project journals. These samples show how I meet learners where they are, offering targeted feedback that encourages deeper thinking, stronger structure, and authentic voice.
My creative writing.
(I practice what I preach.)
As a novelist and lifelong writer, I bring a deep respect for voice, storytelling, and revision to my coaching. Whether I’m guiding a learner through a personal narrative or helping them reflect on a project, I draw on my own writing experience to help them think more clearly and communicate with confidence.
That's a wrap!
Thanks so much for taking the time to explore my work. As a Prisma parent-coach, I’ve seen firsthand how this model transforms learning—and I’d be honored to bring my creativity, care, and experience to the team. I’d love the opportunity to help even more learners thrive in a space that celebrates curiosity, growth, and voice.
